Ever since I got my first hand me down Burton board, I knew I wanted to make a life based around snowboarding. Getting the chance to turn that passion into a career is something I never take for granted. Over the past decade, I've been fortunate to travel the world with Burton's content team, work alongside incredible riders and photographers, and contribute to photo shoots, events, and creative projects that tell the Burton story. Looking back, it's been a wild ride. Here are a few projects that have meant a lot to me along the way.
Jake’s Rider Book
The Rider book was a one of the most meaningful projects I worked on during my time with Burton. This zine was one of Jake’s last request before he passed.
For this project, I was responsible for pulling together the strongest imagery from our staff photographers, researched photographers who had worked with the team throughout the season, and worked closely with the design team to shape the look, feel, and visual flow of the zine.
It was a meaningful opportunity to bring together the work of so many talented people and create something that honored Jake's vision.
Burton US Open
The Burton US Open remains one of the highlights of my time at Burton.
A celebration of snowboarding and one of the longest running snowboard only events, it was an incredible experience to be there in person and play a role in capturing it all.
I spent the week in Vail as the central point person for photography working closely with photographers on the ground, partnerships, PR, and our Social Media team by processing, editing, organizing, and sharing out images throughout the event.
The days were long and the pace was nonstop. I’d get home completely drained, but by the time the next event rolled around, I couldn't wait to get back to Vail.
It was a lot of work, but being part of something that celebrated snowboarding on that scale made it all worth it.
50th Anniversary
For Burton’s 50th anniversary, I dug through five decades of archival photography to help build a campaign celebrating the imagery, riders, and moments that shaped the brand.
The goal was to bring that history together with contemporary photography, connecting Burton’s roots to where the brand is today.
It was a great opportunity to revisit the archive and help tell the story of Burton through the images that have defined it over the years.
